The Brazilian Organic Conformity Assessment System (SISORG), administered by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply – MAPA, of the Brazilian government, was created to identify and control the national production of organic food, including its origin and production process.
It is an operational structure consisting of agencies of the federal public administration and the Conformity Assessment Bodies – OACs (created and authorized after Audit Certification and Participatory Guarantee Systems, accredited by the Ministry).
The States and the Federal District can join the system by agreement.
